June 2011 kicked off with the wedding of Sarah and Dave…A vintage baseball themed wedding based on their mutual love of the Red Sox!
When I arrived at the hotel, Sarah was in curlers, but not in a chair yet. This gave me the opportunity to quickly grab a few of her accessories and run outside for a few pictures!
These shoes were a detail that I had been looking forward to since Sarah told me about them. She wore Converse sneakers…not just for part of the day, but for the whole day…fantastic!
Sarah’s gift to Dave…A brick at Fenway Park that has been inscribed…When I made my way back up to the room, Sarah was just about to get into the make-up chair…I am absolutely in LOVE with these three pictures of Sarah…just stunning!
Across the hall, literally, Dave and his best man were quickly getting ready! They had had a couple of snafus along the way (as Dave joked about below), but it all worked out in the end!
Sarah and Dave opted to do a First Look and we ended up doing it right there at the hotel…this fabulous spot in the back of the property worked out perfectly! The pure joy and excitement is contagious!
After our first look, we headed to Lake Pearl Luciano’s.
Once we were all gathered, we started with some pictures of the bridal party… I had known that Sarah and the girls were wearing Converse sneakers, but I hadn’t been told what the guys were going to be wearing! Everything went together so well ! On Facebook, I gave a sneak peek of the above picture and teased that those shoes led to some great jumping shots…Look at that air! When the flowers hadn’t arrived yet, we improvised and grabbed the pin-wheels that Sarah had made. They were part of the decor for the ceremony, but went so perfectly as a stand-in for flowers!
I just love this picture of the girls…
When the ceremony was about to begin, the bridal party was tucked away in the bridal suite…
After the ceremony, we were escorted by golf-cart down to the beach for a few pictures JUST as the sun was setting…
During cocktail hour, I had a few minutes to grab some detail shots…Sarah (and Dave!) did a great job, carrying their vintage baseball theme throughout all of their details.
Their centerpieces were one of the most unique designs that I have seen….I loved them! The reception began! The first dance started off with just Sarah and Dave, and then the families and bridal party joined in.Two of Sarah’s girls gave speeches and they were both phenominal! Neither of them used notes (which totally amazes me!), and her best friend even had a hockey jersey as a prop! The parent dances…
The party began and was quickly kicked off with a guitar performance from Sarah’s father…The DJ tossed him the guitar, and for JUST a second he made a face pretending that he didn’t want anything to do with it…and then he went into a full blown guitar performace! It was very entertaining…I couldn’t stop snapping!
The final song of the night….
Sarah and Dave…Thank you for choosing me to photograph your day!

Bride/Groom Questions
What was the most memorable moment of your day?
Sarah:The First Look was very memorable. Right before I saw Dave for the first time I was feeling very stressed but as soon as I saw him all the stress melted away and it was just the two of us, together.
Dave: Seeing Sarah walking down the aisle. I was speechless when I saw her during the first look, but seeing her walking down the aisle was even more amazing.
What was your favorite detail?
Sarah:I love that we wrote our own vows and made then personal with a hint of humor. Especially when Dave and I had a “Battle” with our New York Vs. Rhode Island accents.
Dave: Using all the Boston Red Sox music for everything. Especially being introduced to “Shipping Up to Boston” and our exit to “Tessie”
Any advice for future brides/grooms?
Sarah: I think brides should focus more on making their wedding about them as opposed to copying what they see at other weddings or on TV. Your guests will never know how much your dress cost, or that your table linens came from Italy. They will notice that your wedding reflects your personality. Bigger isn’t always better….more personal is. And I also think the groom should really be included in all the planning. It is his day too! Enjoy every moment, it goes by so fast!
Dave: Don’t forget important documents…like the Marriage License for example….
Funniest memory from your wedding day?
Sarah: One table was filled with our Yankee fan friends from NY. They requested that the DJ play “New York, New York” as a joke since they know what huge Red Sox fans we are. The DJ came over and asked us if this was OK, and we all decided to let him start playing the song, then a few lines into it change it over to “Dirty Water” The Yankee fans didn’t think it was all that funny, but the rest of our guests loved it!
Dave: Sarah’s father dancing with the inflatable guitar!
If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
Sarah: I wouldn’t change a thing!! It was laid back, personal, fun….perfect!
Dave: I wouldn’t change anything!
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We went to The Atlantis resort in the Bahamas. It was spectacular!!
