I am excited to post this next preview not just because of the beautiful venue and super fun couple, but also because the bride, Amy, is a special person to me:)! You can actually read a bit about our connection and check out their engagement session here!
Amy & Brian chose Friday the 25th of April for their wedding and they actually chose the best day of that whole weekend! It was beautiful and the rest of the weekend wasn’t as nice – they chose well:)!
Their day, from start to finish, was on the grounds of the Wequassett Resort, and I started with them during their getting ready time….
Amy was wrapping up in the hair chair when I arrived and quickly got started on some of her details! On the left was a poem that was given to her mom with the bonnet…hopefully you can read it for yourself! She pinned the bonnet on the underside of her dress a little later!
The necklace on the left was a gift from Brian leading up to the day…he is an extremely thoughtful husband-to-be!
One of the best hangers that I have seen! I love the added detail imprinted into the wooden part – gorgeous!I used the map below to get me from Amy over to the guys….I am directionally challenged at times and this was on of those times – even with the map:)! Luckily, I stumbled upon Brian’s little brother as I was looking for the house and he led me straight there!I walked in to a very domestic husband-to-be:)! After he finished up some ironing – he opened a gift from Amy….
They turned out to be these extremely cool cuff links! On the right is the bottle of champagne that Brian already had chilling as a surprise for Amy at the end of the day!
I hung out with the guys for just a few minutes while they were getting ready before heading back to the girls…
Brian’s brother’s and father were there to help him out with all of his finishing touches….Back in the girls villa, Amy had moved into the make-up chair….
Amy’s sister-in-law-to-be Alicia (in the left photo) is super sweet and kind, but I had NO idea that she would also be quite the dancer when the reception rolled around – she was awesome and so funny too!Only hours remaining on the countdown…Amy’s girls helped her into her dress and details and her mother helped pin the bonnet…
Amy’s mom looked beautiful, even though she was terribly under the weather that day:(The Wequassett recently did a huge renovation and we were able to be one of the first to use the new area for our first look! They always had a gorgeous area for a grand entrance, but now it is beautiful and more efficient too with the stairs leading right down to the lawn!Amy and Brian’s first look was fabulous – full of different emotions and pure excitement:)!We did a few pictures of Brian and Amy before the bridal party and families joined us…
I am in love with the colors and nautical theme of their wedding and these two cuties were icing on the cake with their outfits! The dress on the little one was actually made by her mom too!Amy works with children and clearly has a natural knack for it! This little one seriously LOVES her…by the reception, she was Amy’s little shadow and ONLY wanted her:)!
After some pictures it was ceremony time….
People are often curious if they do a first look, will the walk up the isle be as special and my answer is YES. I can honestly say that I have seen more emotions from couples that have already done a first look than from those that are coming up the isle a first time….my only explanation is that the pressure is off and the nerves have settled before the ceremony begins!
Regardless of what you chose to do as a couple, that moment is the one that everyone thinks about and dreams about leading up to their day. It will always be one of the moments of your day that you remember! After the ceremony there was a champagne toast and then a few more pictures before joining cocktail!
The families and bridal party were announced into cocktail…the cocktail hour was moved inside because of a little chilly wind coming off the water!
Here is some cute ones’s of Amy with her little mini-princess – absolutely adorable! She was honestly on of the best flower girls I have seen – she LOVED her roll and was so happy to take pictures, come up the isle and be on the dance floor!Amy and Brian were hand delivered their own mini-raw bar – it was awesome! This is Amy’s adorable little nephew – he has the best little giggly smile!A view from the deck that we were on….I want to have a little mini-vacation here – sitting right there in one of those chairs:)!We were heading out to do a few pictures on the dock, but when we got there it was missing! It hadn’t been set up yet for the season – we just did a few more in the area surrounding that spot – equally as beautiful!A couple guests made this for Amy and Brian:)!An awesome first dance! It was a bit choreographed, a bit free-styled, and a bit TOTALLY fantastic:)!
The reception was filled with great speeches, dances, and dancing! There was even some rapping by Amy and Brian that was quite impressive too:)!!
Here with Amy is her friend and co-worked Dr. Katie Marino – The three of us share a love of photography and they have been two of my biggest supporters since starting my business! Last September, I photographed Katie’s brother’s wedding and she was a bridesmaid – take a peek here:)!! Katie has also recently gotten engaged and we already have her engagement session in the books:)!
Amy and Brian – CONGRATULATIONS!! You two were glowing the entire day! Such a happy celebration with your closest friends and family!! I wish you the best and I am sure I will see you again soon:)!!

Bride/Groom Questions
What was the most memorable moment of your day?
Amy – Our first dance! We had taken 3 lessons (very last minute), and no one knew, and in my opinion, We ROCKED it!!!
Brian – Definitely seeing my bride descending the patio staircase to the croquet lawn for our first look.
What was your favorite detail?
Amy – I was and still am in love with our place cards! We painstakingly made them ourselves – small wooden sailboats made out of driftwood. I still think that they were an amazing detail, and really went with our theme!
Any advice for future brides/grooms?
Amy – Relax and HAVE FUN!!
Brian – If you’re playing a round of golf in the morning, bring some sunscreen!!
Funniest memory from your wedding day?
Amy – When our flower girl, Riley, stole Brian off the dance floor to take him to the Photo Booth for a photo session with her. She was absolutely adamant that he go with her, and would NOT take no for an answer – it was GREAT!
Brian – Yeah, and it was during “my” song — “Regulate” by Warren G and Nate Dogg. She owes me one. 🙂
If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
Amy – The absolute only thing I would change is my Mom not being sick! Unfortunately, she became super sick early that morning, and felt awful all day! She was a trooper, but it still makes me sad that she couldn’t enjoy the day fully!
Brian – I’m going to have to agree with Amy on this one. Great friends and family, decent weather, a nice ceremony, awesome vendors, and a great photographer! We just wish Kathy could have enjoyed it as much as everyone else did.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
