Ashley & Ray | Wedding at Shining Tides, Mattapoisett, MA

Last weekend after a bit of a wishy-washy forecast, the weather held out in Mattapoisett, and Ashley and Ray had an amazingly gorgeous wedding day!

We started at a nearby hotel with the details and all of the girls and guys getting ready in their respective hotel rooms – right down the hall from each other!I spent some time with the guys while they were hanging out and helping Ray get prepped…
Back in Ashley’s room, she was wrapping up her hair and beginning her make0up at the same time! I am in love with so many of Ashley’s getting ready pictures and these are just the ones I narrowed it down too:)!After everyone was ready we headed over to Shining Tides…This was my first time at Shining Tides and I loved it! I can’t wait to work there again this year! These ladies are from my hometown of Foxboro and I had met or know all but one of them from previous weddings and/or connections! They such such a great group of friends!!I love ALL of these pictures of Ashley – I just couldn’t narrow it down:)!Ashley is apparently incredibly crafty – she had so many fantastic details that all tied in so beautifully together and she did them all herself! It was fantastic!Once Ashley was tucked away and the guys arrived, we did a few pictures with them too!Inside these the little triangles are butterfly’s….a special touch during the ceremony to honor Ashley’s mother who recently passed….As the ceremony ended, the isle had a few butterflies in it, that had landed on the grass….A couple guests helped to scoop them up and Ray himself, picked one up and placed it on Ashley’s bouquet….it stayed there on the walk back down the isle!
During cocktail we squeezed in our bridal party and family time and wrapped up with Ashley and Ray!Ashley was a bit chilly but did a great job hanging in there for a few minutes and also pretending like she wasn’t cold:)! You can’t even tell in the pictures:)!!Some fun intros….and then the new Mr. and Mrs. Ayala danced for the first time!Ashley’s sister Brittany did the first speech – it was extremely emotional and hard for her….
Molly came to her rescue and finished it for the toast….Then Ray’s Best Man wrapped up the toasts with his:)!An even bigger group of Foxboro ladies:)!Ashley surprised Ray with a groom’s cake after his dance with his mom! Then the partying began!

Ashley and Ray – congratulations! I am so happy for the two of you – and happy that you got to enjoy and “unplugged” honeymoon too:)! I wish you the best and hope that we meet again soon:)!!

Bride/Groom Questions

What was the most memorable moment of your day?

Bride: Walking down the aisle with my sister, my friend, my confidant to be given away to the man of my dreams!

Groom: Seeing Ashley for the first time in her dress. I know I at least said “Wow!” out loud.

What was your favorite detail?

Bride: All of it! Because we did it all! (minus the flowers and the cooking)!

Groom: My favorite detail by far was the chalkboard-themed items that Ashley worked so hard to make. Second was lighting hanging from the rafters.

Any advice for future brides/grooms?

Bride: Take a breath and take it all in.

Groom: Mine is similar. I was advised by others to take a moment and step back from the reception area and to look and take everything in. I did this twice during the night, and it was overwhelming in a truly awesome way.

Funniest memory from your wedding day?

Bride: Pulling the cake out of my boobs and eating it during the cake cutting. Or the ceremony, which had a few good laughs, which will be the case, when one of your best friends is officiating.

Groom: Ashley making faces at me during the ceremony 😛

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?

Bride: Not a thing! – Maybe less cake! We had to take all the left overs home!

Groom: Nope! It was absolutely awesome and so much fun!

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

Sandals Emerald Bay Great Exuma, Bahamas
