On one of the hottest weekends of this season (so far:)!, Kristen and Joel tied the knot! Their fabulous day took place at Ocean Edge Resort in Brewster, MA, and despite the heat it was a great day from start to finish!!
As I arrived, the sun was shining and the views were gorgeous!
I started with the details outside on the balcony…I LOVED this little box for the ring bearer – a fantastic little treasure box!Meanwhile, inside, the prepping had begun!
Kristen actually had two dresses for her day – this was the first! She wore it for the first-look so that she could surprise Joel as she came up the isle with a “wow” moment:)!!Kristen and Joel are both such fantastic people – always happy, smiling and laughing – I found this out at their engagement session and couldn’t wait for their day!
On my way to check in with Joel, I grabbed this picture of the Ocean Terrace – it is where their cocktail hour took place! When I arrived in Joel’s room – the atmosphere was laid back as Joel was tying up some loose ends! We jumpstarted him into, getting ready mode and captured a few shots of him doing it:)!Back in the bridal room, Kristen’s 2nd and official wedding dress was finished being steamed and her hair was just about done!Kristen’s sister, on the left, was the awesome maid-of-honor…she helped Kristen with it all, including the veil and dresses! All the girls with their Team Kristen, t-shirts!The first dress went on quickly and easily! Mom and sister assisted while the girls all helped each other get into their gowns! This cutie MAY just be a photographer when he grows up! This was his “click” dance:)The first-look took place inside the mansion (where it was a bit cooler:)! The dress surprise was already in action:)!After the first look we headed out to the big tree – for a little cover for our pictures – it worked out marvelously!Sitting in a tree pre-ceremony, wouldn’t be my norm, but knowing that we were changing dresses, got these GREAT pictures!!LOVE…Back in the bridal suite we touched up, drank some champagne and put on the official dress!A gift from Kristen’s sister….On my way down to the beach ceremony, I ran right into the guys:)!I love this picture with his shades on delivering the rings in the treasure chest! One big group shot with all of the little ones!!We wrapped up our time on the beach with a few more couple shots in the gorgeous dress!LOVE these images – the colors the dress – just gorgeous! In the grand ballroom, the tables were set and awaiting everyone to arrive from the rooftop deck!
All of the entrances were great, but Joel took the prize when he scooped up Kristen! That was a first for me and it was great!!
The party was officially in full swing…
but one last surprise was in the works and this was another one from Joel! He is the KING of awesome surprises which is why Kristen really wanted to surprise him with the dress! This time, Joel created a slide-show for Kristen and all of the guests to enjoy! One of the best garter removals that I have ever seen:)!
The final dance of the night…Then we all headed out for a sparkler send off:)!!Kristen and Joel, congratulations to you both:)!! I wish you a life-time of happiness and can’t wait until I get to see you again:)!! Hopefully soon:)!

Although we did it a bit differently than it’s intended to be, it was by far the most memorable part of the day. Having that special moment to see each other before is something that I will never forget. It relaxed and prepared us for the rest of the day and also gave us the chance to sneak in a few final hugs and kisses before the ceremony! 🙂
What was your favorite detail?
It’s SO hard to choose a favorite! Everything that we chose and had was carefully thought out and specific to our wedding celebration! However, I must say that I LOVED the photobooth – we got a book of all the pictures taken inside and were able to see the enjoyment that all our guests had. We’ve looked through it so many times and find something new each time. It’s hilarious, insightful, and showed me different sides to some of our guests!
Any advice for future brides/grooms?
EAT your meal at your reception (AND YOUR CAKE!!), take a moment to observe what’s going on around you (we loved watching all of our guests dance around their tables, to the direction of our amazing DJ), and enjoy this huge moment that you’ve been planning for – it goes by SO quick!!
Funniest memory from your wedding day?Joel swooping me up during our entrance. I was completely taken off guard! I think that the singing and electric guitar playing (me being the guitar) is something that I won’t forget, could kill him for, and is something that we laugh about whenever we think of it!
If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
Anything that was within our control was perfect! If I had control over the weather I would have changed the temperature outside! It was SO hot! Luckily, our venue coordinator was amazing and did everything in her power to make us and our guests comfortable.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
Sandals Resort in Antigua, absolutely stunning!!
