Sarah & Matt | Museum of Science Wedding, Boston

Sarah and Matt and their Museum of Science wedding is finally here:)! It was a day that I was looking forward to because it was my first time at the Royal Sonesta and at the Museum of Science! It was also my second time working with Sarah’s family and I was looking forward to seeing everyone again!

After talking with Sarah and Matt, I knew that they were going to make their day special to them and that they had a few ideas in mind BUT noone mentioned the PAC-MAN suits:)!  They were a huge surprise to everyone and a big hit to friends, family and strangers alike:)!

Our day started at the Royal Sonesta – with a huge festival going on – another big surprise, but we still made it work for our first look and photos:)!

In Matt’s room, he was also being surprised by his best “man” Dorothy.  She presented him with a gift box containing a running joke that they keep passing back and forth!

As Sarah mentions below she made all of the bouquets and corsages herself!

We did a first look with Sarah’s Dad too – so sweet!!

Then we headed out for the first look with Matt. Their first look was even set to music due to the festival tents near by:)

We were also close to the Yasso tent apparently! In the middle of our pictures, two of the Yasso reps brought everyone out a Yasso pop! They had a little snack (and a mini-photo shoot) before finishing up our pictures and heading to the museum!

The girls had on moon necklaces too:)

As we walked up to the Museum of Science the perfect photo emerged with the building in the background!

Inside the Museum of Science, we explored a few of the exhibits with our group!

Upstairs in Skyline Room, the view is incredible!! Their ceremony was probably the shortest ceremony I have attended but as they say – short and sweet:)!

On our way to cocktail, I had to use the the galaxy screen for a photo – One of my favorites of the day!

One of my favorite things about the Museum of Science (besides all of the fabulous exhibits and delicious food:) is the levels! I was able to get photos from above and I love different perspectives!

These are “my” moms:) They are technically in-laws to each other but were already friends before their son and daughter married – and when I met them for the first time!

As everyone headed down to the reception, we snuck over for a couple more photos:)

Sarah and Matt didn’t want to be announced, so they just entered – it was still a great entrance – even if only a few were watching:)

Once they sat down, they went right into the two toast – the only formality of the night! They were given by Sarah’s dad and best “man” Dorothy:)

They did cut the cake in a quiet corner:)

Then they insisted on everyone joining them for their first dance and the partying began!

In midst of the evening, Sarah quietly danced with her father – in the middle of the crowd – sweet and perfect:)

Sarah and Matt and the whole Freddo family – Thank you for having me back and allowing me to be a part of your lives again on such an important day! To the Murphy family – it was so nice to meet you all for the first time – Congratulations to you all:)!

Bride/Groom Questions

What was the most memorable moment of your day?

There are so many, it’s hard to choose! One that definitely surprised us was how our first dance went. We don’t like to be the center of attention so we did NOT want to do the traditional “everyone sit and stare at us” dance, so we invited everyone to the dance floor to dance with us. We weren’t sure how that would go, but it turned into an epic group dance/singalong that was better than we could have imagined.

What was your favorite detail?

Our ice cream sundae bar! (Thank god for Shout wipes in the bathroom baskets 😉 )

Any advice for future brides/grooms?

Don’t get caught up in what you feel like you “have to” do. There’s a lot of pressure put on weddings to be a certain kind of perfect, whether it be from tradition, Pinterest, etc – and if that’s what’s “you”, then great! But if not, then that’s ok too. All that matters is that you have a day you love with the people you love.

Funniest memory from your wedding day?

Probably everyone’s reactions to the groomsmen’s suits on our walk over from the hotel to the Museum. They got far more compliments than I (Sarah) did! Also the DJ humoring us and playing “Panama” on repeat 3x, which is a tradition in our friend group.

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?

Nope! We had a pretty excellent day and thankfully not even the tiniest of things went wrong 🙂

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

Disney World, with a day at Universal Studios
