Katie and Ross were married on February 12th on a beautiful (and a bit chilly!), winter day! There was plenty of snow on the ground from an extremely snowy winter, but with only a few flakes falling on their day, the snow didn’t interfere with any of their plans.
The day started for Katie at a salon with a few of her girls! Hair and make-up was completed before heading to her grandmother’s house for the finishing touches!
A couple of Katie’s special details…
Katie’s shoes…I just loved that they said “Gentle Souls”…it is a true representation of Katie and Ross – they are both so sweet and kind.
There were a few family members waiting for us when we arrived at her grandmother’s house. Her grandmother (of course), mother, sister and aunt! Her grandmother’s house is within walking distance from the church (if you weren’t in your wedding dress!). Katie gave a card and gift to her mother and grandmother. The apple definitely doesn’t fall far from the tree in this family. Katie’s mother and grandmother are also so sweet and kind!
Katie’s mother assisted with her jewelry while her sister and friends strapped up her dress! Her sister and best friend were a fantastic team! They were working together to lace up the dress and their technique was the best that I have seen! The dresses that lace up can really be time-consuming and tricky, but they were true pros!
I can’t say enough how much I love Katie! She is absolutely adorable…She is always smiling and laughing and it trully lighthearted. A beautiful bride inside and out!
Katie and Ross had a first look….one of my favorite ways to make the most of you day! They had a private meeting before the ceremony, and after their special moments, we captured some pictures of the two of them, of their bridal party and even completed all of their family formals with a few minutes to spare!
Ross’s cuff links were a special gift from Katie – I absolutely love the “little” details!
The whole party…and let me tell you that it was CHILLY – they are doing a great job smiling and keeping their chills at bay!
As I mentioned before, the church was just down the street from Katie’s grandmother’s house, and if my memory serves me correctly, she was also married in this church!
Just moments after becoming husband and wife…
When we arrived at Zukas, we spent just a couple of minutes taking a few more pictures of the newly married couple….then it was party time starting with their cocktail hour!
First dance…
The speeches were given by the matron of honor and the best man. The matron of honor gave an extremely heart-felt speech and Big Gabe (the best man) hit upon every emotion. The humorous parts should have been a preview of what was to come with him! He was the life of the party for the whole night!
The Shoe Game was played…I have only seen it done a few times, but every time it has been done, it was a hit with the guests! The bride and groom have to answer questions about themselves and their relationship. For example, “Who is most likely to get a speeding ticket?” or “Who is most likely to leave the dishes in the sink?”. They each give their answer and everyone is laughing!
Katie danced with her father…
and Ross danced with his mother. Ross’s mother is another sweet and kind lady! She is always smiling too!
The DJ gathered everyone for a quick group picture before the dancing began…
The final dance of the night was mixed with words from many of the guests that were gathered in a circle and then a big smooshy group hug!
One last picture of Katie and Ross…
Katie and Ross…Congratulations to you both!! It was a true pleasure to be a part of your day!
A big thank you to my past clients, Jeff and Kate, for passing my name along, and congratulations on the new addition to your family!!
