Before the crack of dawn, on Saturday, July 16th, I headed to the Cape for the morning wedding of Jenny and Ryan! Little did I know, as I watched the sun rise that morning, that it would be such a hot one!! It has been a few years since I have had a wedding day as warm as theirs! We all were a “bit” hot, but we all were hot together and it was quite the celebration with an awesome bunch of people!
My day started as the sun rose at the Wequassett Resort in Harwich. I spent a few minutes walking around the grounds before heading to say hello to Jenny and the girls. I found the girls in curlers, munching on a bit of breakfast and hanging out in the conference room. After saying hello, I headed to check in with the guys…I was greeted by the guys…many of them in towels – but fully ready for a fun day – there wasn’t a sleepy one in the bunch!
This is the view from the cottage… When I turned the corner, Ryan and several of his men were already dressed and ready! I was so impressed considering it was 7am and they were ahead of schedule! Ryan’s dad stopped in and he was also fully ready and ahead of schedule! Two sets of cuff links – Ryan’s fathers were definitely special – I believe he said they were passed down from generation to generation (but please correct me if I am wrong:)!As I was heading back to the girls, a couple of the guys were outside joking around:)
Back in Jenny’s room, the process was moving along quickly! We still had some curlers, but the girls from Artworx were fast and fabulous getting all 13+ ladies finished on a tight timeline! The room was full of laughs as they worked (a sneak peek of the day ahead:)! When it was time to get on Jenny’s dress for her first-look, we stepped out of the room for a more tidy spot:) While Ryan and I waited for Jenny to arrive, I was able to meet his sister and nephew and snap a couple of family photos! Prior to this week, I hadn’t met Jenny and Ryan in person. Ryan’s mom Jill (on the far right) was the person I sat down with for our initial in-person meeting:)! Their first look was perfect – full of nerves, raw emotion, love and a lot of warm sunshine:) The grounds of the Wequassett Resort are just beautiful!
After just a couple photos of Ryan and Jenny, Ryan’s family joined us!
After Ryan’s family photos we scooted off to the dock for a few photos of the two of them alone… I am in LOVE with all of these – you two are gorgeous:) The dock at the Wequassett is photographically one of my favorite spots there! No it did not rain – we were using umbrellas to block the hot sun…although they all look fabulous, we were HOT. When we returned, we wrapped up with bridal party photos…Love these guys! Our goal for the morning was to have all “formal” photos done before the ceremony – and as quick as possible by Jenny’s request:) We wrapped up and were tucked away even before we thought we would be! They headed in for some AC and then the guests began to arrive…
Ryan’s nephew was IN LOVE with the band (and the drum set:) He was the first one on the dance floor even before the bridal party was announced! Right after everyone was announced, they had a quick first dance and then a joint parent dance. Their focus for their day was on the ceremony and the celebration! After the formal reception, they had another afternoon/evening party – a full day and a big party! Ryan’s father gave the only toast of the day and then the celebrating began! Several of my connections to Ryan and Jenny are in the top two photos below. The Fox family (Mr. Fox is on the far right and my previous couple, Alex and Craig with Alex’s family:)! If it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t have been a part of this fabulous day! Thank you for passing me along:)! This band was phenomenal! Soho is their name and they were great!! One of my favorite photos of the day is this pant-splitting jump (and Jenny’s awesome reaction! One of my favorite parts of the day (and Jenny’s too:) was when they handed her grandfather the mic. One minute he was out there dancing and the next he was singing! It was awesome! Just as the band warned that we were getting to the last song an impromptu Hora of sorts began – without the chairs:)! A perfect ending to the afternoon party:)!
Ryan and Jenny – thank you for having me! Your friends and families are fabulous and the day was fantastic! I can only imagine how much fun the after-party was:)! I wish you the best and I hope to get to see you again (maybe even in Arizona;)!
