Becky and Jay were married on October 15th at Kirkbrae Country Club in Lincoln, RI. The day produced a mixture of weather conditions…cloudy, light rain, POURING rain, and then clearing again! Everything worked out fabulously, and Becky was calm, cool, and relaxed throughout it all! She is the picture of poised elegance!
It was a very special day, not only for Becky and Jay, but also for me! I was so happy to be a part of this day because Becky is the little sister of my college roommate! My college roommate Bethany, was in the wedding (of course!), AND my other college roommate Kelly did the hair and make-up for the girls! It was like a mini-college reunion!
I absolutely love this one of Becky…
and this one too…
The bouquets and Becky’s new necklace…
The shoes…
A portrait of the bride and the groom before the ceremony…
I love this one of the girls…they were all such happy and upbeat people!! Bethany (my college roommate is the one to the right of the bride…if you couldn’t tell!)…
I had to include the shoes that the girls were wearing…fabulous!
As I said before, the day was a bit misty, and we spent the pre-formals time with the girls, trying to avoid the raindrops. On the way to Kirkbrae, it began to really rain and it continued throughout the entire ceremony…
A few quick pictures of the guys before the ceremony…we were stuck on the covered deck because it was pouring by this point!
The ceremony was always scheduled to be in the tent on the Kirkbrae property…this worked out wonderfully for their day! Becky and her dad were both glowing when they walked up the isle…Just before they made it to Jay, they shared this moment together.
During the ceremony, Jay’s brother and his wife performed a song together.
After the ceremony, the most amazing thing happened…The rain stopped on cue!! We were able to get our formals done outside…I was a very happy photographer!
I thought I would include one more picture of the guys, seeing Becky had the getting ready coverage!
Jay is a joker…I had forgotten that since I last worked with him over a year ago for the engagement session! The middle picture is a classic Jay joking around face!!
This was one of the most adorable moments of the day…I asked Becky and Jay to go up to the top of a little hill for some pictures. On the way up, Becky was having some trouble stepping on her dress. Jay quickly came up with the idea for Becky to hop on! I sometimes will do a piggy-back picture at an engagement session, but this was a first for me in a wedding dress!!
All of the pictures from the top of the hill were totally worth the hassle!
One more ride back down!
A few of the details from the reception. The centerpieces were hand made by Becky’s mother, from the twigs from her yard, down to stringing ever last votive candle…amazing!!
I used the centerpiece for their ring shot too!
I love a happy entrance!
First dance..
The parent dances…
The cake cutting…
and the party begins…
This is Becky’s grandmother who made the trip up from Naples, Florida for the wedding!
The picture on the left is of Jay and his brothers dancing…Their entire family was on the dancefloor for the entire night! The picture on the right shows their mom joining in! She is a great dancer!
Their final dance was full of spinning, lifting, and of course the final kiss!
Becky and Jay, thank you for allowing me to be part of your day! I am honored that you chose me…you are a fantastic couple and such a perfect match!!
